Justice Ademola’s Trial Stalled In AbujaThe absence of Justice Adeniyi Ademola at the FCT High Court In Abuja, has stalled his prosecution.

Ademola of the Federal High Court, was scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, over allegations of corruption and illegal gratification at the FCT High Court.

According to his lawyer, Mr Jeph Njikonye, he is yet to be served the charges by the court bailiffs

The trial judge, Justice Jude Okeke in his ruling, adjourned the case to December 13, 2016 for hearing, after the defendant’s lawyer volunteered to accept service on behalf of his clients.

Lead prosecuting counsel, Mr Segun Jegede, said he was going to ask the court to give an order for service on the defendants, through substituted means but that it was no longer necessary since the defense counsel had approached him before the proceedings, volunteering to accept service on behalf of the defendants.

Ademola was one of the judges arrested by the officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) on October 8, 2016.

Officials of the DSS, had raided the homes of some judge and subsequently arrested some of them.

After their arrests the security agency said they were fingered for misconduct and corrupt practices.

One of the judges is already facing trial over allegations of corruption although he has denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty.
