Harris English’s eagle at the 17th hole was the difference as he pairs with Matt Kuchar to claim their second win at the Franklin Templeton Shootout in Florida.
The final round of the three round event at Tiburon Golf Club used the better ball format with the two Americans combining for a score of ‘minus seven’ to finish at ‘minus 28’ overall and a one stroke victory over the pairing of Steve Stricker and Jerry Kelly.
50-year-old Kelly had a long birdie attempt at the final hole narrowly slide by before Kuchar tapped in for balance to clinch the victory.
Kuchar and English won the competition in 2013 and finished second in 2014 and 2015.
On the other hand, Stricker and Kelly were victorious in 2009.
The next event on the US PGA Tour calendar is the tournament of champions in Hawaii from January 5 till and is expected to be concluded by January 8.
