Ex-President Obasanjo Solicits Support For PoliceA former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, has asked religious and community leaders and Nigerians in general to support the Nigeria Police in its task of providing the much needed security of life and property of the citizenry.

He made the appeal in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital at the maiden meeting of the Eminent Citizens’ Forum and the launch of the ‘Change Begins With Me’ initiative by the Ogun State Police Command.

The purpose of the meeting was to rub minds and fashion out ways of ensuring security of life and property at the grassroots level.

The former president asked Nigerian to always give useful information to the Police to aid them in reducing the level of insecurity in the country.

The Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Mr Taiwo Adeoluwa, who represented Governor Ibikunle Amosun, however challenged the Police authority to intensify effort on the rising tides of kidnapping and land grabbing which has led to many deaths.

The ‘Change Begins With Me’ initiative is to inculcate discipline and patriotism in all Nigerians.
