Nigeria’s Kano pillars have qualified for the semi-finals of the FIBA Africa Champions Cup in Cairo, Egypt.
The team fought back from a 9-point deficit to beat Algeria champions GS Petroliers 91 to 81 points in the quarter-finals.
The Algerians who started well took the first and second quarters 19 to 17 and 20 to 19 points.
Pillars however showed strong intent in the third and fourth quarters winning 28 to 19 points and 27 to 23 points.
Abubakar Usman kept his impressive form in the tournament recording 34 points with 2 assists and 7 rebounds.
Coach Sani Ahmed is expectant that the Kano Pillars would finish strong in Group A of the FIBA Cup.
