Customs Intercept Truck Carrying Adulterated Petroleum ProductsThe Nigeria Customs Service says it has intercepted a trailer truck suspected to be carrying adulterated diesel petroleum product along Aba- Owerri expressway.

The truck with registration number GBB 85 XA was seized by officials of the Federal Operation Unit Zone C in Imo State, southwest Nigeria.

The Customs Area Comptroller in charge of the unit, Comptroller Mohammed Garba, disclosed that the exhibit was discovered to have been hidden in a specially constructed tank for illegal bunkering.

He added that it was also concealed with 256 sacks of expired animal feeds to evade arrest.

In a similar development, Comptroller Garba said the unit intercepted a MAN diesel truck with registration number KRV 238 XB.

The truck, suspected to be carrying 725 different brands of 50kg foreign rice with Duty Paid Value of 24,650,000 naira, was said to have been smuggled into Nigeria through the numerous creeks in Calabar/Cameroun border.

The area comptroller said the latest feat recorded by his unit has clearly shown the commitment of the Nigeria Customs Service in combating smuggling in its entirety.
