 wike-with-bishop2Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has lauded the leadership of the Methodist Church for always supporting his administration.

He expressed this during a special visit by the Primate of the Methodist Church of Cameroon, Alfred Ayuk Ewube, at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Friday.

Wike was also full of praises for leaders of the Church of different denominations, for always praying for his administration.

This followed, as the archbishop, stated that God made Governor Wike a golden Jubilee Governor, because he believes he had been programmed to transform the state.

Earlier, the clergyman, commended Wike for his construction of the Rivers state Ecumenical centre.

Among other things, he also said: “I am impressed with the several development strides of your government.

“The projects your government has embarked upon have brought direct benefits to your people,” he added.

He also expressed his appreciation for the harmonious relationship between Rivers people and the Cameroonian community in the state.

The governor then went ahead to approve the request of the archbishop, that the ecumenical centre be named: “Chapel of Everlasting Grace”.

He reiterated that his administration would always partner with the Church because according to him, Rivers state is purely a Christian state.

“It is God that has made Rivers State a Christian State. Therefore, we shall always partner with Christian leaders”, Wike said.
