The national economic team will soon be embarking on a road show to beef up support for the Nigerian economy, Senate President Bukola Saraki says.
He disclosed this to State House correspondents after a closed-door meeting with the Vice President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara in the Presidential Villa.
The Senate President dismissed any insinuation of issues in the 2017 budget.
“You are aware that the economic team will be going on a roadshow. This was to brief us and let us know the issues and just carry us along.
Reacting to insinuation of issues regarding the budget, he said: “No, there are no issues. We just started budget defence, so where are the issues?
“This is just consultation and its good. As I said its to brief us about the roadshow they are embarking on and to let us know what they’re doing and how optimistic they are.”
