The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has felicitated with the leadership and members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) on the 53rd anniversary of the association.
Governor Wike lauded the association for its contributions towards the development of sports in Nigeria through professional reportage of sporting events and sports personalities.
He urged SWAN to sustain its efforts aimed at developing sports in the country and assured the association of support from the Rivers State government.
The governor made the remarks in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Electronic Media, Mr Simeon Nwakaudu.
