protestThe Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that it respects the right of people to protest peacefully.

This is coming amidst reports that the Lagos State Police command had intended to prevent a march organised by music star, Tu-face Idibia, against the economic crisis in the country.

Earlier, the BBC had reported that Lagos Police Chief, Fatai Owoseni, said the police had not been informed of the march, and they would not allow it to proceed because intelligence reports indicated that “hoodlums are planning to hijack it” to rob, harass and attack members of the public.
