The broadcast industry has been mourning the death of one of its own, veteran broadcaster and former Director General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), late Dr. Patrick Ityohegh.

Dr. Ityohegh died on Wednesday evening in Makurdi, the Benue state capital at the age of 76.

Among other things, he will best be remembered for being the brains behind the popular television show, ‘Sunny Side of Life’, a show that thrilled viewers in the 1980s

Dr Ityohegh was appointed DG of the NTA in 1996, crowning a spectacular broadcasting career that spanned over 40 years.

The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom who paid a condolence visit to the broadcast icon’s family, described his death as a national loss, considering his contributions the media industry in Nigeria.
