President Buhari on Wednesday established the three-man panel headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, with the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, and the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Munguno (rtd) as members.

They are to probe the alleged involvement of the suspended SGF and the NIA Director-General in the grass-cutting contract in North-East Nigeria, and the alleged stashing of large amounts of foreign and local currencies in a residential apartment in Ikoyi, Lagos.
A statement issued on Saturday from the Office of the Vice President explained that the panel would invite all relevant officials and private individuals who may be connected to both cases.
“The panel will also obtain and scrutinise documents that may throw some light on the issues raised in both cases.
“All its proceedings will however be in closed sessions to avoid speculations, allow for full disclosure and enhance the pace of proceedings,” the statement added.
The panel is expected to submit its report to the President after 14 days.
