Court Jails Man For Raping Minor In Ekiti

Court Jails Two Men For Selling IDP Food In BornoThe Modakeke Magistrate Court in lle Ife, Osun on Thursday, remanded three persons over alleged robbery.

The accused persons are Timileyin Muyiwa, 25; Sunday Oluwole, 19 and Ayomikusibe Olunlade, 19.

The Male Prosecutor, Ona Glory told the court that the accused committed the offence on Feb 22, 2016 around 12:30 am at Irebami Area, Modakeke, in Ife Northeast Area of Osun.

Glory said that the accused conspired with others now at large to commit the felony with armed robbery.

He added that Muyiwa armed himself with dangerous weapons such as gun, machete and attempted to rob innocent cocoa farmers of their valuables

The prosecutor explained further that the three accused persons armed themselves with dangerous weapons such as a gun and machete to rob one Bosede Ayoola.

Glory listed the stolen goods as two crates of eggs, one bag of rice, half bag of beans, one keg of palm oil and one keg of vegetable oil.

Other stolen items are 10 packets of Maggi, onions, pomade cream, one DVD player, one red stabiliser, Garri and beverages.

The prosecutor stated further that Muyiwa unlawfully has one live cartridge in his possession which he cannot give a satisfactory account of.

He said that the offence was contrary to and punishable under sections 2 (1) (a), 6 (b), 8 and punishable under sections 1 (1) (2) (a) (b), 2 (1) (a), 27 (1) (b) (ii) of the Firearms Act Cap F. 28 Laws of the Federation, 2004.

Magistrate Bose Awosan did not take the plea of the accused but asked the prosecutor to duplicate their case file to the office of the Ministry of Justice for legal advice.

Meanwhile, Awosan ordered for the remand of the accused persons in prison custody and adjourned the case to May 22, for legal advice.
