Nigerian celebrities including music star, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, a.k.a D’banj, have charged their followers to speak against domestic violence and quit abusive relationships.
The move follows the increase in reported cases of domestic violence even among A-list celebrities in the entertainment industry.
In the past few months, stars including actress Tonto Dikeh and more recently, Mercy-Aigbe have admitted to being victims of abusive partners.
In a series of tweets, D’banj called on women to leave abusive men, who he described as “beasts”.
Don’t be deceived. Anyone who is telling you ‘men hit, its normal’ is either in denial or guilty. NO Excuse LEAVE!!!!!! God help us all
