The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has adjourned the trial of Justice Sylvester Ngwuta till May 24 and 25, 2017.
Justice John Tsoho adjourned the case after the prosecutor informed him of a delay in the arrival of the evidence gathered, during the search of Justice Ngwuta’s residence on October 7, 2016.
Upon resumption of the trial on Wednesday, the prosecutor had asked the judge to enable her present the evidence, which according to her was being brought to the court.
She later informed the judge that it was yet to arrive, after which the case was adjourned.
The prosecutor had on Tuesday amended the charges against justice Ngwuta and asked for the adjournment of the case to produce evidence, including the huge amounts of foreign currency the Department of State Security said it recovered during the search of the judge’s residence.
The evidence however arrived after the case had been adjourned.
