An Ile-Ife Magistrate Court has remanded one Isreal Ojimi, 38, said to be a prophet and Bose Adetimikan, 27, in prison custody over alleged rituals.

The prosecutor, Inspector Emmanuel Abdullahi, told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 20, 2017, around 10:00 pm at Mosarajo area via Ile-Ife.

According to him, they had armed themselves with some charms in the form of a garment with an intention to commit felony.

He further explained that they conducted themselves in a manner that caused mayhem, adding that their behavior was against the norms and ethics of the nation and had contravened sections 213, 249 (d) and 516 of the State Penal Code.

Although defence counsel, Mr Alaba Awoseemo pleaded for their bail in most libral terms, the plea was not accepted.

Magistrate Olalekan Ijiyode, however, asked the counsel to put the plea in writing and ordered that the accused persons be remanded in prison custody.

Ijiyode, subsequently adjourned the case to June 13, to hear the bail application.
