Trump Pays Tribute To Fallen U.S. HeroesU.S. President, Donald Trump, on Monday laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery to honour fallen service men and women.

During his first Memorial Day as President, Trump also honoured the dedication and sacrifice of the fallen heroes, as well as that of the families they have left behind during a speech at the cemetery’s Amphitheater.

“Thank you for joining us as we honor the brave warriors who gave their lives for hours spending their last moments on this earth in defence of this country and of its people. Words cannot measure the depth of their devotion, the purity of their love, or the totality of their courage.

“We only hope that every day we can prove worthy not only of their sacrifice and service, but of this sacrifice made by the families and loved ones they left behind… special, special people,” he said.

Earlier in the day, the President tweeted a message of remembrance and gratitude to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice.

Monday’s Memorial Day event was the first public appearance for President Trump since returning late Saturday from a nine-day trip abroad.

“We can never replace them, we can never repay them, but we can always remember, and today that is what we are doing…We remember.

“Thank you, God bless you, God bless our fallen heroes, God bless their families, God bless our military and God bless the United States of America,” he added.
