The Governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, has condemned the abduction of a member of the House of Representatives from the state.
Mr Garba Umar Durbunde was kidnapped on Tuesday around 5 pm on his way back to Abuja from Kano.
Reacting to the incident, Ganduje said in a statement by the Kano State Commissioner For Information, Mr Muhammad Garba, that he was shocked and saddened by the news, especially as the incident occurred during the Ramadan.
He condemned the abduction, which took place at Jere, on the Kaduna-Abuja Road, “in the strongest term as an act of wickedness perpetrated by evil and cold-hearted elements”.

The governor called on the police and other security agencies to rescue Durbunde and ensure that those behind the kidnap are made to face the law.
He also called on members of the public to be vigilant and security conscious.
