The Nasarawa State Governor Tanko Al-Makura has donated vehicles to the state sector of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

While handing over the vehicles at the government house in Lafia, he said the gesture is in support of activities of the corps in road administration.

The donation is coming after the governor donated a building to the sector to ensure an enabling environment.

“Some of our support to your organisation, a bus to convey your staff from one place to another and a refurbished ambulance bus to support and augment the good work you are doing with regards to handling issues of those involved in accidents on our highways.

“Only two weeks ago i was able to donate an office complex for you and also made a commitment to refurbish the office in such a manner that it befits the status of the head quarters of the state sector of the federal road safety commission. As a matter of fact we are making these donations and supports because we have confidence in your efforts to improve the quality of road administration.

“There could be no appreciation and better acknowledgement for such a good and efficient disposition of an officer more than to recognise and also support your activities.

“I believe with the allocation of these vehicles and the office complex your efficiency and efficacy of your activities in Nasarawa State will be taken to the highest level.”

Appreciating the gesture, the Nasarawa State sector commandant Foustina Alegbe said the gesture will spur them to do more.

“We pledge that we will put in our best, we will continue to improve in what we have done. So with this we will make sure that we are seen on the roads, roads traffic crashes are immediately evacuated form the highways and when there are obstructions the road we would quickly move them out,” he added.
