Students of Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa on Thursday demonstrated against the lack of power in the institution for over a month.

The students in their hundreds took to the school’s gate with placards and prevented principal officials, lecturers, and students of the institution from entering. (Nobody comes in, nobody goes out).

The unannounced protest which was staged by the head-officer of Man o’ War of the institution crippled academic activities in the school.

While addressing the protesters, the chairman of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP)Federal Polytechnic chapter, Mr. Hassan, pleaded with the students to sheath their sword with an assurance that the issue will be addressed within 24 hours.

There are rumours making the rounds that the school’s light was disconnected following three years unpaid bill by the incumbent rector of the institution, Dr. Saidu Abdulkadir Shettima.
