North Korea has once again defied the United Nations and international warnings and conducted another missile test.

The missile landed in Japanese waters, according to a report from Japan.

The latest missile was said to have been launched from Jagang province, north of the country, at around 11:41 pm, local time.

The range of the missile launched is not known, but the range of North Korea’s ICBM has been disputed, though some experts say it could reach Alaska.

Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary, Yoshihide Suga, said the missile flew for about 45 minutes, some six minutes longer than the ICBM tested in early July.

North Korea claims it reached an altitude of about 3,000km, that’s 200km higher than the previous ICBM.

If confirmed, it would be North Korea’s 14th missile test conduct, this year.

“As a result of their launches of ICBM-level missiles, this clearly shows the threat to our nation’s safety is severe and real,” Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said.
