The Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has challenged the Nigerian Armed Forces to be at the cutting-edge of technological warfare.
According to Prof. Osinbajo, militants, terrorists, hackers and economic saboteurs are re-inventing themselves with technology, thereby changing the very nature of warfare in the 21st century.
Speaking in Abuja at the graduation of course 25 of the National Defence College, the Acting President warned the military to be mindful of the fact that the nature of warfare waged by these groups challenges conventional military strategies, and therefore must be innovative in how they confront current security challenges.
He added that it is only by preparing and adapting to the changing nature of the security landscape that countries can win the war against terrorism, economic sabotage, and cyber crimes.

This follows the resurgence of violence in the northeast with pockets of attacks recorded mostly in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
He met with the military Chiefs on after the recent attack on the oil exploration workers and security operatives between Magumeri and Gubio Local Government Areas of Borno State.
The Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali said that it has been agreed that the military should be moved back to the command centre in Borno, in order to critically review the situation of things in the ongoing fight against the Boko Haram.
He further disclosed that more surveillance devices and cameras would be procured to help detect distant attackers and protect the troops.
