An Ile-Ife Magistrates Court in Osun State, on Friday remanded two men, Afeez Adebodun and Sola Adedokun, for allegedly stealing the engine of a 504 Peugeot.
The Prosecutor, ASP Mattew Imeprev, earlier testified that the accused committed the offence on July 31, 2017 at Lagere area of Ile-Ife.
He added that the offence contravened section 386 and was punishable under sections 390 (9) and 516 of the state penal code.
The suspects, Adebodun, 22 and Adedokun, 21, however pleaded not guilty to the two-counts of conspiracy and stealing.
The Defence Counsel, Mr Ben Adiereje, subsequently pleaded for the bail of his clients, saying they would not jump bail.
Magistrate Dorcas Ajiboye refused to grant the accused bail, but ordered for their remand in Ile-Ife prison custody.
The case was then adjourned till September 1, for hearing.
