High Voltage Kills Woman In Ogwashi UkwuThe Federal Government has commenced an investigation into the cause of electrocution that led to the death of two in Minna, the Niger State capital.

The Executive Director Technical services, Nigeria Emergency Management Services Agency (NEMSA), Engr Tukur Gidado who was in Minna the state capital to condoled with the families of those who lost their lives and properties during the inferno last Sunday urged for hiring qualified persons in wiring their houses.

Engr Gidado said he was in Minna with the directive of the Minister of Power, Babatunde Fashola to show the FG’s concern on the matter.

He charged people to install circle breaker in houses to trip off light during emergency adding that as social responsibility organization would do the needful to cushion the effects of the disaster on the lives of the affected.

The Executive Director further stated that measures have been put in place to avert future occurrence and however expressed dismay over the unfortunate incident.

The Community District Head of Sabon Nasarawa C in Chanchaga Local Government Area, Mallam Danladi Majidadi expressed displeasure with the situation which he described as very unfortunate because the same thing happened on April 8, 2005, where three persons died and several houses got burnt hence it has repeated itself this year again.

He urged AEDC to ascertained the real cause of the incident thereby finding a permanent solution to it however blamed the service provider for not up to their task of maintenance and as at when do but because they are law abiding community that’s why the youths couldn’t take any negative action against the AEDC called for restraint.
