At least 13 people were killed and thousands more affected by floods in northern Bangladesh, local media reported on Monday.
Heavy rains triggered flash floods across 10 districts in northern Bangladesh on Sunday and the water is spreading to the country’s central districts local media reported.
The floods submerged train tracks, villages and towns while inundating homes.
An unidentified local said: “In my 55 years, I have never seen the rail tracks submerged, all the roads broken and all the houses in the water. We don’t know what happened to us, only Allah knows.”
The local Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre was reported as saying if rains continue until the end of August, at least 25 districts across the country will be affected by September.
