The Teen Choice Awards which held in Los Angeles honoured actors, singers, and social media stars.

The show was highlighted by Chris Pratt who made his first public appearance since his separation from his wife, Anna Farris.

Pratt was honoured with two awards, including Choice Sci-fi movie actor.

“Many years ago, when I came to Los Angeles, I came from Hawaii and I had this blonde hair and tan, and I met an agent because I really wanted to be an actor and get an agent. And he said ‘Wow bro, you must surf,’ and I said, ‘Uh, yeah.’ And that was the first of many lies that I told to get to where I am today.” Pratt said

The night was also marked by references of Charlottesville, Virginia where one woman was killed and several injured on Saturday at a white-nationalist rally.

Zendaya who took home the award for choice summer movie actress for her performance in ‘Spider-Man’called on teens to be educated as they are the future leaders of America.

“With all the injustice and the hatred and everything that’s happened, not only in the world but in our country right now, I need for you young people, I need you guys to be educated. I need you to listen. I need you to pay attention. I need you to go ahead and understand that you have a voice, and it is ok to use it when you see something bad happen.

“So make sure that you stay educated and you do not let people tell you what you think you should feel. You are the leaders. You are the future leaders of the world. You are the future presidents, the future senators and you guys are the ones that are going to make this world better. I’m just letting you know right now that you are the future. So take that very, very seriously.” she said

Fifth Harmony member Lauren Jauregui said,”In light of recent events, we just wanted to say to all of the young ones at home watching, no matter who you are, where you come from, or what you look like, you are beautiful and you are important. So keep spreading love and positivity.”

Other highlights included Vanessa Hudgens winning the ‘See Her’ award and “Riverdale” winning for Choice Breakout TV Show.

Miley Cyrus was supposed to receive the night’s highest honour, the ‘Ultimate Choice’ Award, but she was unable to attend the ceremony.

The event was attended by Rita Ora, Paris Jackson, Neyo, Rae Sremmurd, Cat Deeley, French Montana, Lil Yatchy, and many more celebrities.
