Bundesliga teams Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen paid their respects to the victims of the Barcelona attacks ahead of their match on Friday night.

At least thirteen people were killed on Thursday afternoon (August 17) when a van driven by a suspected Islamist militant mounted a pedestrian walkway running down Las Ramblas Avenue in central Barcelona, mowing down crowds strolling along the boulevard.

Both Bayern and Leverkusen players gathered around the centre circle at the Allianz Arena in Munich for a brief silence, which was followed by a round of applause.

German team manager Jogi Loew was also in attendance and showed his respects by applauding with the rest of the crowd.
