President of Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Dan Igali, has described Nigeria’s success in its bid to host the Africa Wrestling Championship as a major turning point for the sport in the country.
This comes after the United World Wrestling (UWW) announced Nigeria as host for 2018 Africa Senior Wrestling Championships at its general assembly meeting in Paris, France.
Nigeria and Tunisia indicated interest to host the tournament that is scheduled to start on February 7, 2018, and last for four days.
The championship will take place in Port Harcourt, Rivers State and it will be the first time Nigeria is hosting since 1976.
