The weekly Federal Executive Council meeting will not be holding again today.

A statement from the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, says the President will, however, receive the report of the committee investigating allegations against the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ayo Oke.

No reason was given for the cancellation of the FEC meeting.

It would have been the first FEC meeting to be presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari following his return from medical vacation in London.

Before travelling to London for a second time on May 7 to receive further medical attention, President Buhari had missed the FEC meeting for weeks.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who was the Acting President while he was away had presided over the weekly meeting in his absence.

Professor Osinbajo also presided over those the President missed before travelling to London.

The news comes a day after reports emerged that the President will be working from home because his office is being renovated after rodents moved in and damaged some items in the office while he was away.
