Collation and sorting of votes have just been concluded and counting is in progress following the Anambra governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which took place on Saturday.

The state chairman of the party, Mr Emeka Ibe, expressed satisfaction at the conduct of the exercise so far, saying that all the various stages of the process have been hitch-free.

He also noted that the conduct of the delegates, the security agencies and members of the press is quite commendable, adding that it is a shadow of what will play out on November 18 after which APC will take over the government of Anambra state.

Eleven aspirants are contesting the governorship ticket; some of which are: Senator Andy Ubah, House of Reps member, Tony Nwoye, National Auditor of the APC, Mr George Muoghalu, APC House of Reps candidate in the 2015 general election, Bart Nwibe, former PDP governorship candidate in 2014, Mr Obinna Uzor among others.
