Germany’s national men’s soccer team coach Joachim Loew on Sunday condemned Nazi-era chants by some fans in Prague on Friday at a World Cup qualifying match against the Czech Republic.

Loew said he was “full of rage” and that the fans brought shame on Germany when they chanted and whistled during a minute’s silence held for two deceased Czech officials.

Speaking in Stuttgart ahead of another qualifying match against Norway, Loew said he was in favour of tough sanctions.

“We don’t want these anarchists, we are not their national team and the behaviour of some of the fans in Prague was the lowest of the low and deeply despicable,” he said.

The German players declined to greet fans at the end of the match, which Germany won 2-1.
