Victims of the five days long Makurdi flood disaster, have cried out for help both from government and groups to enable them return to their homes or seek alternative shelter.

Recounting her losses, one of the victims, a resident of the BIPC Quarters Nyiman, told Channels Television that her furniture, personal effects and two cars were lost to the flood.

She also lamented over the fact that she had to abandon her three-bedroom flat for fear of collapse.

Also at the Makurdi International Market IDP camp, one Mr Steven Aondona said his family (wife and three children), were displaced from their one bedroom apartment at Idye village.

He, therefore, appealed to aid agencies and the Federal Government to come to their rescue and also building standard drainages in order to prevent a recurrence.
