A six-year old boy has been confirmed dead after part of a building in which he and other family members were sleeping, fell following a downpour in Kaduna State.

The rain which started on Wednesday night, with intermittent breaks, became heavier in the early hours of Thursday, resulting in the collapse of part of the structure while the occupants were still asleep.

The rain, which lasted for over 15 hours was said to have weakened the foundation of the house built with mud block resulting in the collapse.

Speaking to Channels Television, the sister of the deceased said the mother and her little baby were injured in the incident and had been taken to the hospital for treatment.
