The Home-Based Eagles will face host Ghana, Mali, and Guinea in the group phase of the WAFU Cup in Cape Coast, following a hard fought 2-0 win against Sierra Leone in their knockout fixture.

Two late goals from Ranger’s Osas Okoro and substitute Moses Peter of Plateau United sealed the win for Nigeria.

The Home-Based Eagles first game in Group 1 will be against Ghana at the Ndoum Sports Stadium, Emina on September 14 and will face Guinea two days later.

Nigeria’s last group game will be against Mali on September 18, the top two teams from the group will advance to the semi-final.
