“The agitations and disturbances that have been ongoing ceaselessly since the coming to power of the Buhari and Osinbajo administration in 2015, is aimed at rendering the country practically ungovernable, and ushering in of anarchy and instability, thereby occasioning a change of government by whatever means and tactics, therefore we cannot be tempted to take reprisal attacks against the Igbos leaving in the north”,

“We believed that the current IPOB brand agitation is a strategy employed to achieve the results that the coupists of the first republic failed to realise, namely, increase the weight and relevance of the region to the detriment and expense of the central government.” the group spokesman Abdulaziz Suleiman said.

Meanwhile, the coalition of the northern groups during a visit to governor Ganduje at the state’s council chamber, promised to reach out to the international criminal court, government authorities and all other relevant stakeholders by marshaling of facts and evidence of incitement to violence and possible mass atrocity crimes or even genocide against the north by IPOB, in addition to coming up with both short and long approaches to the sudden resurgence of Biafra agitations.

“Northerners in line with our disciplined nature must refuse at this point to be dragged into taking the law in our hands through unnecessary and unproductive confrontations with members of any sectional, ethnic or religious group.”

In an effort to intervene, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje wants the groups to put Nigeria first in all the approaches they intends to take and to ensure that violence or destruction of lives and property are not part of their approaches to the BIAFRA agitations.

“We thank you for not taking laws into your own and we shall continue to encourage you to leave in peace with members of any religion or tribes residing in the north and we are at the are urging the federal government and indeed all other security agencies to intensify investigation into the alleged attacks of the Hausas in some south eastern states.”

The State Government also urged the Federal Government to embark on an immediate investigation into the resurgence of Biafra agitations with a view to punishing those involved.
