The Nigerian Army says troops fighting the insurgency in the Northeast have killed two suspected members of Boko Haram terrorist group in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

The Director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Usman in a statement on Sunday said that teams of 202 Battalion, Operation Lafiya Dole, encountered the insurgents at Feri-Feri and Tashan Goto axis in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

He said that the troops also ambushed another group at Shetimari causing them to flee into the bush, some with gunshot wounds.

Brigadier General Usman added that a suspected physically challenged Boko Haram terrorists’ informant, Mr Audu Usman was also arrested at Doron Baga in Northern Borno State.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government says it will begin the trial of over one thousand Boko Haram suspects detained in military camps from next month.

The ministry of justice while attributing the delay in prosecuting the suspects to poor investigation and logistical problems, says the cases will be speedily handled.
