Nigerians have continued to react to the allegation again the wife of the President, Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha, by the lawmaker representing Bauchi State, Senator Isah Misau.

Mr Misau who has been involved in a disagreement with the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, since August, mentioned the wife of the president in the wake of fresh allegations.

While reappearing before the Senate Committee on Ethics which is investigating the allegations he made earlier, the lawmaker claimed that Mr Idris purchased two Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) for Mrs Buhari’s personal use.
Mrs Buhari on her part, denied the claims.

In a tweet on Tuesday, she simply stated: “I am still using my personal cars”, a response which has generated a lot of reactions across social media both from critics as well as supporters.

The disagreement between Mr Misau and the IGP, which seems to have no end in sight, borders on dissemination of falsehood against the police, the IGP, and the Police Service Commission.

Misau also accused the IDP of favoritism in the promotion and appointment of Commissioners of Police, as well as the illegal diversion of funds.

He was arraigned on Thursday last week before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory and charged with five counts bordering on dissemination of falsehood against the Police, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The court granted him a bail bond of five million naira and two sureties, as well as fixed November 28 and 29 for trial.

Meanwhile, the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari, Garba Shehu has also made known his position on the issue.

In an interview with Channels Television’s Politics Today, he said: “I don’t work in the office of the wife of the President, I am not aware of these issues.”
