The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has on Monday said that it will amend the charge against a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr Dele Belgore and a former Minister of National Planning, Mr Abubakar Sulaiman.

Counsel to the Commission, Mr Rotimi Oyedepo made this known before Justice Rilwan Aikawa of the Federal High Court in Lagos.

Oyedepo told the presiding judge that the amendment is necessary to accommodate all evidence at the disposal of the commission.

The EFCC is prosecuting both men for allegedly conspiring with the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Allison-Madueke to steal N450m.

The anti-graft commission claims that the N450m was part of a larger sum of $115m which Mrs Allison-Madueke allegedly doled out to compromise the 2015 general elections.

At the last Sitting, the court had rejected Allison-Madueke’s move to be joined in the trial.
