Flamingoes coach Bala Nikyu says he is not impressed with the performance of his team against Ethiopia despite advancing to the next round of the qualifiers for the FIFA U-17 women’s World Cup.

Flamingoes were held to a goalless draw in the second leg of their tie with Ethiopia at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin on Saturday.

“I’m highly disappointed because I never expected Ethiopia to pick a draw here,” Nikyu told reporters after the match.

Nigeria qualified for the next round despite playing a goalless draw courtesy of the 1-1 away goal in Addis Ababa in the first leg.

Coach Nikyu, however, said his team must step their game up when they face Cameroon in the final round of qualifiers.

The 6th FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup finals will hold in Uruguay November 20 to December 13, 2018.

Nigeria’s Flamingos have been an ever-present in the competition since it was launched in New Zealand in 2008.
