The Yobe State Government has approved the procurement of 20 operational vehicles for security agencies in the state as a part of efforts to bring an end to the activities of the Boko Haram insurgents.

The state Commissioner of Information Mr Mala Musti told journalists during the executive council meeting on Wednesday that the government had agreed to purchase 20 Toyota Hilux 4WD operational vehicles.
“The approved 20 Toyota Hilux vehicles as agreed by the council will engulf the sum of N350 million naira” the commissioner said.

The commissioner also said the council in session approved the sum of N972 million naira for the payment of tuition fees for 840 students currently being sponsored by the state government.

“Despite the competing demands and the lean resources at the disposal of government, the council approved the sum of N972, 390,000 for the payment of tuition fees in respect of 840 students sponsored by government in Nigeria Tulip International Colleges in Mamudu, Kano, Kaduna and Abuja”

Mala Musti also disclosed that the council equally approved for “external work such as Dwarf Wall, interlocking, Gate House, re-rendering of perimeter wall at the new 750 capacity banquet hall at the government house Damaturu.”
