Bello Presents N147.82bn 'Budget Of Sustainable Growth’

Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has presented a budget of about N147.82 billion for the 2018 fiscal year.

Governor Bello presented the appropriation bill tagged ”Budget of Sustainable Growth” on Friday at the Kogi State House of Assembly in Lokoja, the state capital.

Addressing the lawmakers, he said recurrent expenditure gulps N63,829,361,233 representing 43.18 per cent while the capital expenditure is N83,998,498,261 which represents 56.82 per cent, putting the total figure of the budget at N147,827,854,494.

According to the governor, the administration sector takes N44,918,382,654 while economic sector was allocated N59,274,019,991, just as law and justice take N5,772,179,162 and the social sector gets N37,863,272,684.

He said the budget has a total estimated recurrent of N88,584,787,658 which consists of N33,661,542 from internal sources while the sum of N30,809,657,108 would be obtained from the Federation Account and the sum of N12,247,564,141 would be realised from the value added tax.

Governor Bello added that N5,333,501,351 would be gotten from excess crude, the sum of N4,154,334,112 from exchange differentials, and N2,378,188,404 from budget augmentation.

He also reviewed the 2017 Budget and informed the lawmakers that the total budget package was N185,057,744,523 for both recurrent and capital expenditure.

He said the total recurrent revenue approval for 2017 was N87,716,212,024, out of which he noted that the sum of N42,172,456,776 was realised as at the end of September, representing 48.08 per cent performance.
