The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has warned local government administrators and political office holders against diversion of agricultural equipment for personal use.

Governor Bello gave this warning in Lokoja while commissioning agricultural equipment worth several millions of naira, and also unveiling the confluence rice, said the procurement of the equipment was aimed at enhancing agricultural produce in the state, noting that the government will not condole any act that will hindered the real farmers from gaining access to the equipment.

The Kogi State government through the Ministry of Agriculture has procured another modern agricultural equipment which will be distributed to farmers at no cost to boost their production.

In his good will message the chief of staff to the Governor Mr. Edward Onoja, disclosed that the state government is already in partnership with investors from Israel for the production of fruits and tomatoes.

In his speech governor Yahaya Bello, called on the youth and women in the state to come out and embrace farming while he warned the administrators of each Local Government Areas not to interfere with the management of the equipment saying the days of diversion is over.

He then unveil the confluence rice, which has been produced in Kogi State, also declared the agriculture equipment for use, while 50 bags of the rice has been ordered to be distributed to all the polling unit across the state, for the people to celebrate the yuletide..

The agricultural equipment commissioned include 40 tractors, 40 ridgers, 40 harrows, 40, ploughs and 1500 power tillers among others.
