The Nigerian Army has deployed Special Forces to Benue, Taraba and Nasarawa states amid tensions of attacks on communities in the states.
The Presidency announce this on Wednesday, hours after President Muhammadu Buhari presided over the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja.
The deployment of the troops, which comes as part of measures by the Federal Government to prevent further attacks by suspected herdsmen, was to secure vulnerable communities in the states.

Dozens of persons, most of whom were believed to be farmers, have been killed in the attacks on some communities in Guma and Logo Local Government Areas of Benue State.
The killings have sparked concerns by some Nigerians while thousands of residents in Benue are said to have fled their homes to seek refuge in border communities of Nasarawa State.
In a bid to tackle the crisis, President Muhammadu Buhari ordered the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, on Tuesday to move to Benue State with immediate effect.
Mr Idris, who arrived in Benue on Wednesday, was directed by the President to restore law and order, as well as prevent further loss of lives and properties from escalating and spreading in the state.
The Police had also hinted Nigerians that the IGP was moving into the state with additional five units of Police Mobile Force (PMF), making a total of 10 Units of PMF deployed in the state.
In line with total compliance with the President’s directive, more units of the Police Special Forces, Counter Terrorism Units, and conventional policemen among others had already been deployed to the state.
