President Muhammadu Buhari’s son, Yusuf, who was admitted in the hospital following injuries he sustained after his involvement in a power bike accident, will soon be discharged, a statement from the presidency said.

A statement signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, on Friday said the health of Yusuf, who was admitted into Cedarcrest Hospital, Abuja, on December 26, has improved remarkably and he is ready to be discharged.

The statement quoted the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Felix Ogedegbe, as saying: “His condition improved remarkably and he was transferred from intensive care to the ward. He has remained stable ever since and has continued to make remarkable progress. He is now ready to be discharged”.

Yusuf’s speedy response was attributed to the world-class treatment he received at the hospital, whose authorities commended President Buhari and Mrs Aisha Buhari for the confidence reposed in them.

Earlier, a statement by the President’s aide, Mr Garba Shehu, noted that Yusuf had a bike accident on December 26, around Gwarimpa in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

He was said to have He broken a limb and had an injury on the head as a result and was undergoing surgery at a clinic in Abuja.
