President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife, Aisha, have thanked Nigerians for their prayers as their son, Yusuf, gets discharged from the hospital.

The President’s appreciation was conveyed in a statement signed on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina.

Yusuf was involved in a bike accident in December 2017 around Gwarimpa in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

He was said to have broken a limb and had an injury to the head as a result, but was in a stable condition after a surgery at a clinic in the nation’s capital.

The President’s son was consequently discharged from Cedarcrest Hospital, Abuja after about two weeks, following what the Chief Medical Director described as his “extremely speedy response to treatment.”

President Buhari’s family further thanked Nigerians both within and outside the country for their good wishes.

They also appreciated the overwhelming show of love and solidarity, which had come their way since Yusuf was involved in the motorcycle crash.

“We thank Nigerians from all walks of life, both within and outside the country, leaders of many foreign countries, groups, organisations, individuals, and many others, who prayed, visited, sent messages, and generally stood by us at the trying time,” the first family said.
