The trial of suspected ritualist, Ifeanyi Dike, began on Friday at the Rivers State High Court in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
The suspect was arraigned before Justice Adolphus Enebeli by the state government after he reportedly murdered an eight-year-old girl, Chikamso Favour, in the state.
Dike was said to have also raped and harvested the genitals of the late minor sometime in August 2017.

He was charged alongside Ogochukwu Nnamiro (the second accused person) and Sergeant Johnbosco Okoroeze (the third accused person).
A mild drama, however, ensued when the first suspect collapsed following a loud shout he gave after his case was mentioned in the court.
