Abuja Airport Closure: Amaechi, Sirika Appear Before Senate

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has reopened the runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

FAAN had closed the runway on Thursday after a private jet skidded off it, losing its landing gear in the process.

The General Manager, Corporate Affairs, FAAN, Mrs, Henrietta Yakubu, explained in a statement that the closure was to “enable the Authority take safety precautions”.

Airport workers were, however, able to move the jet out of the way, enabling the authorities to reopen the runway.
