Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that the upcoming 2019 General Elections will not stall the delivery of projects in the state.

He stated that he will remain focused on the completion of ongoing projects, while new projects will be initiated.

The governor said this on Friday, after inspecting ongoing projects in Port Harcourt and Obio/Akpor Local Government Areas.

He also noted that the administration will effectively use the dry season to achieve desired milestones at different project sites.

Some of the project sites visited include the Port Harcourt Pleasure Park Cinemas and restaurants, Judges Quarters, Doctors Quarters, Dualization of Hotel Presidential Road, Produce House, National Industrial Court, Mile One Market and Rumuolumeni Internal Roads.

“We are focused on the mandate given to us by the people. No project will be abandoned,” he said.

Speaking further, the governor noted that contractors have been further mobilised with funds all across the state to ensure that no project suffers delay.

“We are impressing it on contractors that they must deliver because we are regular in payment. Over the last three weeks, we have further mobilised contractors for them to increase the pace of work,” he said.

The governor was accompanied on the inspection by a member of the Rivers State Senior Secondary Schools Board, Chief Hanny Woko.
