NNPC To Recover Missing Petrol Worth Over 130m Litres

The Petroleum Tanker Drivers Branch of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) says it has no plan to embark on any industrial action.

The PTD Chairman Otunba Oladiti Salman, made this known on Friday, while speaking with the NNPC Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs, Mr Ndu Ugbamadu – a statement signed by him on Saturday disclosed.

He also stated that the purported ultimatum given to the government by NUPENG over the state of some roads in the Country was a ruse.

Salman said PTD strongly disowned the statement describing it as a “misinformation” and “a calculated attempt by mischief makers to cause panic in the Country”.

He, therefore, stressed that his union was on the same page with the government having had a parley on Thursday, with the Honourable Minister of Works, Housing and Power, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola, in Abuja.

The PTD Chairman explained that at the meeting, the union was reassured by the comprehensive reports of all the on-going repairs and reconstruction of the damaged highways in parts of the Country, in addition to the promise of commencement of palliative works on them.
