The Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 3 for Adamawa and Taraba states AIG Kayode Aderanti, has called on the police to improve on its fight against terrorism by successfully tackling the menace of herdsmen.

He said there is a need for the introduction of more sophisticated and modern technology, which he made known while declaring open a five day course for officers and men of the Nigerian Police Force in Yola, Adamawa State.

The aim of the event is to introduce modern technology that can be used in curbing terrorism and herdsmen/farmers clash.

The event also drew officers from the Army, Civil Defense, Fire Service, Road Safety, DSS amongst others.

In his remarks, the AIG expressed excitement seeing other agencies participating in the event.

He highlighted other issues that were discussed during the training, such as community policing, the fight against terrorism and herdsmen, farmers’ clashes.

He urged security operatives in the zone to step up their efforts in the fight against terrorism in Adamawa and Taraba states against the gun carrying herdsmen who inflict harm on the vulnerable communities.
