About 17 persons have been killed while 50 injured following multiple explosions that hit Borno State, North-east Nigeria.

The incident occurred on Friday night at a community in Konduga Local Government Area, where three female suicide bombers stormed a fish market with IEDs strapped on their bodies.

The North East Zonal Coordinator of National Emergency Management Agency, Bashir Idris Garga, confirmed the incident to Channels Television.

He said 14 people died on the spot while three passed away in hospital.

Mr Garga, further noted that the bodies of the victims have been deposited at the mortuary while the injured have been taken to the Konduga General Hospital.

However, the Borno State Police Command is yet to issue an official statement on the incidence or the causalities.
